The challenge is to create a restaurant that incorporates a new inventive idea that creates a memorable, unique experience for the user.

Root provides transparency when it comes to food while providing a social environment suitable for families or friends that all share one goal: healthy living. The freshest, non gmo, organic produce and products offered in the urban area, backed with specific detail of where each product was grown and harvested.

LIFESTYLE

The primary goal of their experience is to extend her healthy lifestyle through her experience at the market and restaurant. She wants to consume only the freshest ingredients she can find and wants the opportunity to customize and hand pick her meal knowing that she’s the one to hand pick the ingredients.

HEALTH OF SELF AND OTHERS

The main goal of their experience is to teach and continue her own healthy eating habits through the market and restaurant. She wants to teach her kids the importance to know what you put into your body and to know where it comes from.

LOGO SKETCHES

I began the sketching process by sketching the literal interpretation of "root". I then considered a logo that represented the look of the resturant instead. This led to more geometric designs with straight edges.

BRAND STANDARDS
FLOORPLAN & ELEVATION

First Floor On the first floor customers are greeted by the vegetable wall and planting beds full of fresh produce. On first floor there are also several different food stations and a market. Second Floor The main seating is on the second floor of Root along with the kitchen and more food stations. Elevation A to scale elevation of the building shows the impact of the vegetable wall in the restaurant. The vegetable wall is the focal point of Root.

RAW A ROOT PUBLICATION

Raw is a publication of Root that is available for purchase in the market. Raw highlights health, fitness, and meals that fit the lifestyle that a Root customer is looking for. The publication produced each season lets readers know about the upcoming season’s vegetable schedule so their visits can be planned accordingly.
